• The Original Chelsea Flower Gin contains 19 botanicals including rose petals, marigold, verbena, cassia bark and juniper. ‘Rose and other floral notes interact with piney juniper and peppery spice’.

EDITORS NOTES
PARTRIDGES – the independent family-run food store was founded in 1972 in Sloane Square and in 1994 was granted a Royal Warrant as Grocers to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
In 1998 Partridges second shop opened on Gloucester Road, West London and in 2004 the original shop was relocated to Duke of York Square, Chelsea with outdoor seating on the Square.
In 2012 Partridges introduced its Chelsea Flower Collection which contains a range of upmarket groceries including floral teas, fudge, biscuits, a selection of gifts and 2 types of gin.
Teas & Chelsea Flower Gin - Tea and gin are the perfect combination as the floral or citrus botanical flavours found in tea compliment gin. Tea has been used by bartenders to lengthen drinks since the 1800’s.
No. 2 Chelsea Flower Gin, is infused with Bergamot, which is a fragrant citrus fruit with a sweet, floral, sour and bitter flavour, found in Earl Grey tea. It tastes delicious with Partridges Earl Grey Tea with its bergamot overtones, whilst more floral teas such as Partridges Chelsea Flower Tea and Partridges Rose Pouchong Tea combine better with the floral notes of the Original Chelsea Flower Gin.
In 2014 Partridges launched Startisans to help ‘Start-Up Food & Drink’ artisans and operates pop-up Shepherd’s Markets around London including the vibrant and successful Saturday Fine Food Market each weekend outside its flagship store on Duke of York Square.
Partridges sell over 5,000 food, wine and spirits items and has one of the largest selections of American food in London. Customers can shop online with free delivery in local areas or a click-and-collect service. Fresh food, bakery counter goodies and everyday essentials can be ordered Deliveroo from both Partridges stores.
Mothering Sunday has been celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lent in the UK and Ireland since the 16th century and is a day to show love, gratitude and appreciation for mothers, through acts of kindness and the giving of gifts and flowers.
THE CHELSEA FLOWER STORY
The Chelsea Flower range has been inspired by the historic association between flowers and nurseries and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. In 17th century, nurseries were to be found in Chelsea catering for fashionable tastes in exotic and beautiful flowers. James Colville, a leading nurseryman and florist noted for his roses, chrysanthemum, pelargoniums and rare exotics was located on the corner of Blacklands Terrace and Kings Road, directly opposite the current location of Partridges' Chelsea store. Over time, Chelsea became famous for its numerous nurseries which imported and grew wondrous plants and flowers such as azaleas, camellias and geraniums alongside fruits including oranges and pineapples.
